PROJECT INTRODUCTION:
Annual requirement of poles by power sector in Bangladesh is about 11 Lacs per year at a growth of 20%. There are about 14 factories in Bangladesh that are manufacturing poles. Among the Wooden poles 30~40% has been imported abroad.
Main buyers of Spun Pre-Stressed Concrete (SPC) Pole in Bangladesh which are Rural Electrification Board (BREB), Bangladesh Power Development Board (PDB), Dhaka Electric Supply Authority (DESA), Dhaka Electric Supply Company (DESCO), Barind Multipurpose Development Authority (BMDA) and other concern authorities in their electrification activities in Bangladesh. The works is endowed with all the necessary infrastructural facilities including water, power, transport, communication, labour supply, basic raw materials and market etc.
